Richard began his career in the chemical engineering consulting industry, working for six years as a process engineer on chemicals projects in the UK, Hong Kong and South Africa.

 

He took his first step into insurance in 1995, joining Sun Alliance (now RSA) as an Account Engineer and leaving in 2001 as Business Development Director in RSA Global Consulting.

 

Since then he has held progressively senior roles in MSILM 3210 Syndicate at Lloyd’s and more recently within QBE where he was a member of QBE EO’s Emerging Risks Group, responsible for monitoring emerging risks and liaising with the Group ERG.
